Apricity Canoe Race with Adventure Therapy
On 29th April 2026, 32 court of protection professionals took to the water to raise money for Adventure Therapy in our very first Annual Apricity Canoe race. Split across 3 canoes we got to grips with our paddling skills and travelled down the River Dart to a landing spot.
Canoe Adventures kindly treated us all to some bush craft skills and we were able to collect wood, learn how to start a fire and enjoyed a hot drink to fuel us for the race ahead.
The way back up the River Dart saw a hotly contested race between the boats with everyone giving it their all. The competitive streaks were out in force and despite some confusion over the finish line, team Sailor Swift were worthy winners and crowned victorious on the day!!!
We raised £1,700 for Adventure Therapy, a fantastic charity providing outdoor and adventure led activities to support those with mental health conditions, neurodevelopmental disorders, physical disability and life changing conditions. They have supported a large number of our clients to access wide range of outdoor activities whatever their needs, providing invaluable experiences, memories and skills. More about their amazing provision can be found here Home Page - Adventure Therapy.
